Teresa había viajado al balneario de Archena porque su médico le había recomendado que descansara.
Teresa had travelled to the spa of Archena because her doctor had recommended that she rest.
Llevaba meses trabajando sin parar en un bufete de abogados de Barcelona y su cuerpo le había enviado señales que ya no podía ignorar.
She had been working non-stop for months at a law firm in Barcelona and her body had sent her signals she could no longer ignore.
El balneario era un edificio de piedra blanca rodeado de palmeras y jardines silenciosos.
The spa was a white stone building surrounded by palm trees and silent gardens.
Si alguien le hubiera dicho que allí cambiaría su vida, se habría reído.
If someone had told her that her life would change there, she would have laughed.
La primera mañana, mientras desayunaba en la terraza, encontró un sobre sin nombre debajo de su taza.
The first morning, while she was having breakfast on the terrace, she found an unnamed envelope beneath her cup.

She left the paper beneath the flowerpot and returned to her room with her heart beating faster than normal.

For five days, they exchanged letters.
