Todos los vecinos de Ronda conocian la misma historia.

Cada noche, a las doce en punto, alguien tocaba el violin en el Puente Nuevo.
Every night, at twelve o'clock sharp, someone played the violin on the New Bridge.
La melodía cruzaba el desfiladero del Tajo y llegaba hasta las casas del casco antiguo.
The melody crossed the Tajo gorge and reached the houses of the old quarter.
Sin embargo, cuando alguien salia a mirar, el puente estaba completamente vacio.

She searched for hours through yellowed documents until she found a name: Andres Ruiz, a violinist who had lived in Ronda at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Segun los registros, Andres desaparecio una noche de 1923 después de un concierto.
According to the records, Andres disappeared one night in 1923 after a concert.
Nadie supo que le paso.
Nobody knew what happened to him.

Esa noche, Marta volvio al puente con el botón en el bolsillo.
