(The Basement on Sierpes Street)
Marcos trabajaba como fontanero en Sevilla y, por lo tanto, estaba acostumbrado a entrar en lugares oscuros.
Marcos worked as a plumber in Seville and, therefore, he was used to entering dark places.
Sin embargo, cuando el dueño del edificio de la calle Sierpes le pidió que bajara al sótano, sintió algo extraño.
However, when the owner of the building on Sierpes Street asked him to go down to the basement, he felt something strange.
El hombre le explicó que había una fuga de agua, pero no quiso acompañarlo. <<Es mejor que vaya usted solo>>, dijo, sin mirarlo a los ojos.
The man explained to him that there was a water leak, but he did not want to accompany him. <<It is better that you go alone>>, he said, without looking him in the eyes.

The air became colder with each step.

When he reached the bottom, the torch lit up an enormous room full of old mirrors leaning against the walls.

When the firefighters found him the next morning, Marcos was sitting on the basement floor, with his eyes open and an empty smile on his face.
