Daniel era nuevo en Barcelona.
Daniel was new in Barcelona.
Un día bajó al metro y vio algo extraño.
One day he went down to the metro and saw something strange.
Alguien había dibujado una estrella roja en el mapa del metro, en la estación de Passeig de Gràcia.
Someone had drawn a red star on the metro map, at the Passeig de Gràcia station.
Debajo de la estrella había unas palabras escritas a mano: <<Mira debajo del banco número siete.>>
Under the star there were some words written by hand: <<Look under bench number seven.>>
Daniel pensó que era una broma.

Miró debajo del banco.
He looked under the bench.
Había una caja pequeña de metal.
There was a small metal box.
Dentro de la caja encontró una llave vieja y otra nota: <<La puerta azul de la calle Aragó, 42.>>
Inside the box he found an old key and another note: <<The blue door at Calle Aragó, 42.>>
Daniel fue a la calle Aragó y encontró la puerta azul.
Daniel went to Calle Aragó and found the blue door.
Usó la llave.
He used the key.
La puerta se abrió.
The door opened.
Dentro había una habitación llena de libros viejos.
Inside there was a room full of old books.
En la pared había un cartel: <<Bienvenido a la biblioteca secreta de Barcelona.
On the wall there was a sign: <<Welcome to the secret library of Barcelona.
Coge un libro y deja otro.>> Daniel cogió una novela y dejó su libro de español.
Take a book and leave another.>> Daniel took a novel and left his Spanish book.
Volvió al metro con una sonrisa enorme.
He returned to the metro with an enormous smile.
