Los tres hermanos se sentaron en el despacho del notario con los ojos brillantes.
The three siblings sat down in the notary's office with gleaming eyes.

But then the notary handed them a handwritten letter.
Decía: Queridos sobrinos: si estuvierais juntos leyendo esto, ya habría conseguido lo que quería.
It said: Dear nieces and nephews: if you were together reading this, I would have already achieved what I wanted.
Sé que discutiréis y que pensaréis que vuestro tío estaba loco.
I know you will argue and think your uncle was crazy.
Pero también sé que terminaréis riéndoos juntos.
But I also know you will end up laughing together.
Y eso vale más que cualquier fortuna.
And that is worth more than any fortune.
Pablo leyó la carta en voz alta y los tres se miraron en silencio.
Pablo read the letter out loud and the three of them looked at each other in silence.
Entonces Elena empezó a reírse.
Then Elena started laughing.
