(The Lost Tourist)
Un turista alemán caminaba por el Casco Viejo de Bilbao con un mapa en la mano.
A German tourist was walking through the Casco Viejo of Bilbao with a map in his hand.
Estaba completamente perdido.
He was completely lost.
Quería encontrar el museo Guggenheim, pero todas las calles le parecían iguales.
He wanted to find the Guggenheim museum, but all the streets looked the same to him.
Vio a una mujer mayor y le preguntó en inglés: ¿Dónde está el Guggenheim?
He saw an older woman and asked her in English: Where is the Guggenheim?
Ella lo miró con curiosidad.
She looked at him with curiosity.
No hablaba inglés ni alemán.
She did not speak English or German.
Le dijo algo en euskera y sonrió.
She said something to him in Basque and smiled.

The tourist did not understand anything.

Suddenly, the tourist saw the shining museum next to the water.
Le dio un gran abrazo a la mujer.
He gave a big hug to the woman.
Ella se rio otra vez.
She laughed once more.
No hablaban el mismo idioma, pero no lo necesitaron.
They did not speak the same language, but they did not need to.
